The Wells Overview

Wells Cattle Co. Restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Rockwall, Texas. 


Our location is housed in an old 1930’s converted home. We have added an enclosed porch for additional seating. We can accommodate 50-60 customers at one time in a facility that is much larger inside than it looks outside. 


We have a full hot kitchen and a small baking kitchen. We currently serve our customers with a counter-service style approach where they place their order, sit where they choose, and the kitchen delivers the food to the table using their name as the table identification.

The Wells Difference

We are different on purpose


When we began this restaurant 5 years ago, we wanted to make sure every customer felt like they were back home with us on the ranch enjoying a farm-fresh meal. I felt if we could make them feel like family, we could offer a powerful dining experience that would both build relationships and serve an amazing meal people would choose to enjoy often. This is exactly what we have done.


 It has been said that people will forget meals, but they will never forget how they were made to feel. 

The Customer Culture

To put it simply, we care. We care about quality. We care about comfort. We care about connecting on a personal level with each customer who chooses to make us part of their life. We love great food and we love sharing it with our great customer family! 


Our employees are taught to treat our customers as family. Many times people assume that every employee is a family member. Well, they aren’t, but they had better act like it. The culture we enjoy is built on purpose and has been one of the founding principles that has caused us to grow and stand out in a very difficult market. 

The Sauce Kitchen

We make the critical ingredients and buy the best staples. We buy the best mayonnaise and mustard, but we make 5 critical sauces in-house daily. We make a spicy ketchup, jalapeño ranch, New Mexico red chili sauce, barbecue sauce, and PB sauce. Yes, a peanut butter sauce! 


We also make our own house burger and fry seasoning daily. To do this we only use pure spices to create our culinary perfection. This way we know that our seasoning is free from bulking agents, gluten, and preservatives. 




Handmade Kitchen

We make every dessert we sell. Chocolate and coconut meringue pies, double layer Texas sheet cake, gluten-free brownies, and our famous peach cobbler. We also make two keto (no sugar) desserts, a keto cheesecake and keto three-berry cobbler. 


Our french fries are hand cut, par-cooked, fried to order, and then sprinkled with a house-made seasoning and sea salt. 


We order in bakery-fresh buns multiple times a week. We offer a house potato hamburger bun, a keto bun, an allergen-free bun, along with the same types of bun in a hotdog style. 


Finally, our beef patties are weighed (5.5oz) and hand-formed daily, along with our house-made vegan patty, and our Wells meatloaf patty. 


Everything we do is with excellence and the highest level of quality every day.
